  • [SOLVED] JRockit R27.1 and JRockit Mission Control 2.0 released

    Hi all,

Does anyone know if 5.0 or 5.5 is using JRockit 27.1? I am curious to know if there is really a performance improvement when using JRockit 27.1 as it was indicated on BEA's website as providing 10%-15% performance improvement.

    Thanks!
    Ian

    Ian,

Could you post a link to the BEA page that you're referring to? The R27.1 is a generic build number that applies to several version of JRockit (1.4.2, 1.5 and 1.6). If it is referring to the 1.4.2 version of JRockit, then it may indeed be compatible.

Please post the link, as I'm interested in learning more about it.

    Thanks!

        Ian,

Thanks for the info. Unfortunately, this is referencing JRockit 1.5 R27 and OTM is only compatible with 1.4.x.

I know the next version of OTM will work with newer versions of the JDK, but don't yet know if that will be JDK 1.5 or 1.6. I'm pushing for JDK 1.6, since there are even greater performance improvements in that version - not only with JRockit, but also with the stock JDK. This would greatly benefit OTM users on other platforms, such as Solaris and HP-UX. I'm also crossing my fingers for 64-bit JDK compatibility, so we can allocate even more memory for OTM. We all know what a memory hog it is :P

        Hope this helps!
