  • Sidewinder-OTM integration

    Hi,

Any one worked on Sidewinder and OTM integration specially Dyanamic Schedulling.

What is the scope of Sidewinder in the process and what OTM suppose to do in the whole process.

    Appreciate any inputs on this.

    Regards
    Arpit

    Re: Sidewinder-OTM integration

    Hi,
I think Sidewinder's strengths lie in its ability to do street-level routing, which draws upon digital map data using Oracle Locator. Hence, shipments 'planned' in OTM may be passed to Sidewinder (I believe it's called ORS now) for 'execution', i.e. assignment to actual vehicles, drivers and specific roads / streets to take from Source to Destination.

I'm not sure if anyone has done a proof-of-concept OTM-ORS integration before, let alone a LIVE integration.

    Just my two cents' worth.

    Cheers,
    Simon.

I agree with Simon. We've discussed this with a few clients, but have yet to push through to a full POC.

        Re: Sidewinder-OTM integration

        Hi All,

I know this is bit old post and that gives me some window to hope someone must have worked on this till now.

Any idea exactly what is expected between OTM and ORS?

We are also looking for similar apporach for one retail cllient in ME.
