  • Exceptions during Purge

    Hi

When i do a Data purge (Configuration and Administration) in OTM 5.0 i sometimes get the below errors and all the records do not get deleted. The errors are :

    1. CAUGHT THE FOLLOWING EXCEPTION WHILE PROCESSING TRANSACTION: glog.util.exception.RemoteExceptionWrapper
    Write_Record_Failure (cachedUser=SPLD/HP.ADMIN/null/ADMIN, class=class glog.ejb.shipment.ejb_ShipmentStop_l4lf06_Impl, currentUserName=SPLD/HP.ADMIN, primaryContext=SPLD.TESTORDSHIP004 2, vpdUser=SPLD/HP.ADMIN/SPLD/HP.ADMIN/ADMIN)
Unable to update {0=null} {1=null} to the database. Either the record has been removed by another user or you do not have rights to edit it.

2.Read_Record_Failure (cachedUser=SPLD.ADMIN/null/ADMIN, class=class glog.ejb.order.ejb_OrderRelease_ddh9qc_Impl, currentUserName=SPLD.ADMIN, primaryContext=SPL/HP.0026088LC-001, vpdUser=SPLD.ADMIN/SPLD.ADMIN/ADMIN) Unable to read {0=null} {1=null} from the database. Either the record has been removed by another user or you do not have rights to view it.

3.You must withdraw the active tender on shipment SPLUAT.M_10300000773719_RA before it can be deleted.

    4. Cannot delete the S_EQUIPMENT record. A INVOICE_EQUIPMENT_DETAIL record references it in its [S_EQUIPMENT_GID] column.

Can you please tell me what are the reasons for the above errors and what settings i need to do , so that i do not get the above exceptions.

    Regards

    Re: Exceptions during Purge

    Ajoy,

The first and second errors appear to be VPD related, meaning that the user doesn't appear to have privileges to modify or delete some records. The third error is common with the purge scripts - which don't automatically resolve data dependency issues such as the outstanding tender. The fourth error is also fairly common.

There are some very experienced OTM DB experts on the forums who have developed their own data purge scripts, based on the initial scripts provided by G-Log / Oracle. Unfortunately, these provided scripts are not what I'd consider fully-functional and need to be adjusted towards your needs. If others are willing to share, perhaps we can develop a more functional set of data purge scripts for the community.

Can anyone offer more detailed advice?

    Thanks,
    Chris
