  • Add or Delete Shipment Stops

    Hi,

This is probably a silly question but we can't figure out how to add or delete a stop after a shipment is built. We tried using Actions under Shipment Stops but there is nothing there indicates how to add or delete a stop. Thanks in advance!

Re: Add or Delete Shipment Stops

Hi - I think the way of doing that is to remove the order releases from the shipment.

You cannot remove a shipment stop via the standard UI - you have to do it by removing order releases and then letting OTM figure out the affect of doing that e.g. removing a shipment stop

    Repost if still having issues.

Re: Add or Delete Shipment Stops

      Hi Otmrookie,

If you want to add or delete stops to a shipment it can be done on the "Stops" tab of the shipment edit (so open the shipment in "Edit"). You have there the possibility to "New stop" button.
You can also delete via the "delete" button at the end of the stop line.

      Best regards,

Re: Add or Delete Shipment Stops

Hi Bob - Do you have experience of using that functionality where you have multiple ship units being picked up and delivered at each stop ? I have always thought that using that ability to delete shipments stops from the UI as not being as robut as adding / removing order releases to / from shipments but maybe it does take care of all the necessary database relationships. Let me know.

Re: Add or Delete Shipment Stops

          Hi BMJ,

Of course your solution of adding a order release to a shipment works well, if you want to add a stop related to an activity to a ship unit.
However otmrookie didn't ask it specifically realted to an order release, perhpas he meant it but I was not sure. That why I added my solution to it.

Where I use it or is adding an "operational" stop (eg customs, laboratory etc). This stop is to calculate distance and to let the carrier know that he needs to go through these stations.

If it is related to an order release (delivery or pickup) you only can do it via actions. You can add the stop but you can only choose ship units already attached to the shipment. So adding a new order release to the shipment won't work if you add a stop in the stop screen.

          Hope this explains a bit.
