Anyone had any success getting the 3D Load Config diagram to work?

When i click shipment --> actions --> View Load Config i get the message:

The loading configuration of Shipment Equipment TMSDEMO2.773444 cannot be shown in 3D.

    Thanks Marc

Yep, we managed to get this working now...its actually not too difficult once you know what is mandatory. Im pretty busy at the moment but would be happy to give you a hand when i get some free time. Ive also got a powerpoint on 3d load config setup that might be useful

              Re: View 3D Load Config

Hi Marc, yes if you could e-mail me that information that would be great! My e-mail address is [email protected]. Right now I'm at a point where I think I have everything setup but when I try to create a multi-stop shipment I'm getting an error when I use any loading pattern but Volume Estimation. When I create a direct shipment it seems to work ok but when I pull up a shipment the view of the 3D load gives me an error saying that the shipment equipment cannot be viewed in 3D. After some more research I found that if I manually populate the s_ship_unit_piece table with information the view of the load will work.

So the basic problems I am having are that I cannot create multi-stop shipments and when I do get shipments to build, OTM does not seem to be creating the load points for the loading units. Anyway, your help is very appreciated. Thanks!

                Re: View 3D Load Config

There is a bug which means 3D load config does not work with multi-stop shipments. Ive logged it as a bug ...who knows when Oracle will get round to fixing it. They hvae recognised it as a bug though.

Sounds like you are nearly there with the settup - it's usually a missing field in the ship unit or transport handling unit setup . Do you hava a THU specified on you packaged item screen?

                  Re: View 3D Load Config

Thanks for the information Marc... unfortunately I don't think I'm any closer to getting this working. I re-setup the THU's, etc... and in the logs I am still seeing these lines as the optimization fails:

PackingSolverException in load config packing.. reverting to the default packing method RMICallHandler-240]

PackingSolverDetailsFailed in finding the best resource to pack into .... [RMICallHandler-240]

I get this when I try to plan an order and when I try to use the Container Optimization tool in the ask g-log bar. When I switched the LOAD CONFIG VOLUME THRESHOLD to zero, I realized that I wasn't able to build shipments at all when the load config engine is being invoked.

Anyway, if you or anyone else has ideas on what might be wrong please let me know! Thanks!

Hey Marc, Thanks a lot for your doc. I'm going to try them out shortly. One quick quesiton. Are you on CU5? My instance is on CU5 and I'm wondering if my problems have anything to do with that.
