  • Information needed for planning two order releases into a single shiopment

I am working on a scenario, in which i have an order release (wt = 1000 lbs) from "A to B".

A shipment is planned for the same and it is to start at the time, say 04.00 GMT.

Now, I have another order release with the same source, destination and same start time 04.00 GMT.

    ORDER RELEASESOURCEDESTINATIONSTART TIMELOAD IN LBSEQUIPMENT CAPACITYEQUIPMENT CAPACITY UTILIZATION1AB04.00 GMT50004000012.5 %2AB04.00 GMT50004000012.5 %

The table above will provide better understanding of the scenario...
If i plan for a shipment, OTM plans a new shipment for order release2.
Equipment utilization is less in both the shipments.

Although it is possible to manually assign order release 2 to the existing shipment from order release1, My query is,

Is there a way to make OTM to check for any shipments with same source, destinations, start time, capacity etc.., and attach the current order release with the existing shipment

    Awaiting a response.

    Thanks and Regards
    Pradeep

    Pradeep,

If you havent done anything to the 1st shipment (i.e. tender or tender accepted) you would be able to re-plan the associated order release along with the new order. In OTM it is standard functionality for order releases that are planned into shipments to be re-planned with new orders. (As long as the order release status is PLANNING_PLANNED-FINAL). You can setup a query that looks for orders that are in "new", "unscheduled", "final" and "failed" status' and have them replan to maximize your consolidation efforts. This is something you should discuss with the business and the regularity of running the bulk plan.

Let me know if this helps. The test I would try is to plan one order and once its planned to grab the second order and plan again. The system should unassign the first order and if they are same source/dest with feasible transit times they should consolidate. (I'm assuming rates, rate service, itineraries, etc are setup).

    Thanks,
    Thomas
