  • Creating hyperlink on buy shipment to access the server level folders

    Hi All,

    Requirement:
I need to establish an hyperlink that, when the user clicks on the buy shipment gid, it should redirect to the web server (could be OTM web server or client specific server) and opens a specific folder which is having the same shipment id. (There could be many folders with the different shipment ids)
And we should able to read the documents which are there in that folder.

Can anybody come across this kind of scenario. Please provide your thoughts on this.

    Thank you.

Yes - It can be done.

Explore custom actions of type REDIRECT_BUY_SHIPMENT - specify web url there. Check HELP for more details

      Hi Sunny,

It is not possible without any interface as the folder is created on another server or place after shipment is planned in OTM and to which OTM process or workflow has no idea in runtime....

Process weaver integration with OTM does similar kind of action not same though..which sends back the Parcel tracking URL in OTM.User can click on that and track the cargo....

What you can do maximum..is..as mentioned by Nipun..configure action to redirect with a fixed URL, this means that the redirection will not be going to shipment id specific folder but to a generic Folder..where end users would have created shipment specific folder....

This you cannot achieve via manager layout by clicking on any GID (which is your requirement as OTM will redirect you to GID specific manager layout) this workaround can be achieved only by screenset action redirect..setup..

Also you can tryout direct SQL update generic folder URL in attribute or remark for specific shipment and map that field to screenset result screen from..where user can click and navigate to folder....in popup screen...
